"Noli umquam discere desinere." It's Latin for "never stop learning". I have it written on the inside of a locket necklace.

Background Information:  I started out working on ad campaign strategy and interactive design for brands like Jergens, Leapfrog and Complete Nutrition. My husband and I were propelled into the startup world when we first envisioned Bulu Box at the finish line of the San Francisco Half Marathon, and we’ve lived and breathed Bulu Box ever since! Achieving a better work/life balance is a goal for both the whole Bulu Crew and myself in 2014, which for me means (nearly) always fitting in my Crossfit workout and taking the time to travel and try new healthy recipes. The most recent big thing I did was taking an amazing hiking/biking trip through the Pyrenees Mountains with my husband and our friends!

What made you what you are:
Failure. Growing up I was an athlete, a straight-A student and super involved in school and social activities. Failing was the worst thing that could happen to me. Since then, I've learned to embrace failure. While it still doesn't feel good to fall short, I understand now that it's an opportunity to learn. A lot of my current strengths are an outcome of previous failures.

Advice you would give to other entrepreneurs:
Embrace failure. Oh, and if you will be fundraising, identify one person on your team to raise capital. It's a full-time job.

Entrepreneur you most admire and why?:
Two friends of mine, Matt Boyd and Eric Bieller co-founded Sqwiggle. They were the first company completely funded on Angel List. That's pretty cool. So is the technology they're building.

Most embarrassing moment:
While designing a poster for Cinco de Mayo, I asked my husband what the Spanish word for "piñata" was. #derp

Favorite thing about your office:
The people in it. Every member of the "Bulu Crew" is dedicated and working toward the same goals. Plus, we're having a helluva time doing it. I'm so proud to be part of a team that supports each other in work, life and health.
