Favorite Quote: “I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. Life's a bitch. You've got to go out and kick ass.” — Maya Angelou

Background Info:

I’m an Iowa girl with big dreams. I’m currently the founder and CEO of Hello Fearless, the school for female entrepreneurs, where I teach women how to build highly impactful and profitable businesses and is the go-to for all things related to launching, growing and scaling ideas. After spending years marketing and building major brands and tech startups, I now help ambitious entrepreneurial change-makers fearlessly give their gifts to the world so they can make a difference and achieve big, bold dreams.

What made you what you are:

  • An innate knowing that the best things in life don’t come from living in your comfort zone

  • Always trusting my intuition and taking big leaps of faith

  • Surrounding myself with passionate, non-judgmental, driven people who believe in me

  • An ongoing curiosity and the belief that life is a beautiful experiment

Advice you would give to other entrepreneurs:

The health of your business is contingent on the health of you as the founder of your company. Truly understanding who you are as a person, what your strength/weaknesses are, your passions, who you want to serve, the impact you want to make on the world, and the lifestyle you desire holistically all completely determine what type of business you build, what industry you work in, your business model, your ability to be profitable, and your effectiveness in attracting your perfect customers and employees that believe in your bigger mission.

Entrepreneur you most admire and why:

Richard Branson. He came from nothing and persevered against all odds to be disruptive in multiple industries, taught himself everything, created brands that are 100% aligned with who he is and what he stood for, attracts customers to what he’s doing, and still managed to integrate play and fun and maintain an incredible lifestyle throughout it all.

Most embarrassing moment:

Too many to share!! Life is full of embarrassing, awkward moments. You just have to embrace them.

Favorite thing about your office:

We work in a bright, open collaborative coworking space that inspires people to think creatively and work with one another. Fundamentally, we believe that being an entrepreneur is more than just building a successful business — it’s about building an extraordinary life. And that the process itself should be fun and enjoyable, so ongoing play is such an essential component to that. We’ve been so fortunate to attract some complete badasses. We have a flat organization and are entirely transparent with everything, which empowers people to come up with big ideas, to go for it, and to be vulnerable to share when they face challenges or self-doubt so that we collectively know how to overcome those things together. Everyone loves what they do and we have fun doing it.

Anything else you would like to share:

Humans, and women especially, are incredibly powerful. You're not doing anyone any favors by not being exactly who you are and going after your dreams. In fact, it's by doing so that inspires others to make big things happen in their own lives.
