I'm sooo excited about the 2014 Pantone Color of the Year, not only because it's a variation of purple, but because it is gorgeous. Since it is quite bright, it may be a little more difficult to integrate into your office space, but never fear — it can easily be done.

In my opinion, Pantone's Emerald last year was a little bit more subtle and easier to integrate with accessories, but I'm just as in love with this year's color. Here are some tips for how you can successfully work this gorgeous color into your office space.

As you integrate Radiant Orchid into your space, keep in mind is that it doesn't have to be the EXACT same tone or shade. An on-trend color can have many variations and I think the more you differentiate your space from the rest, the more unique it will be.

Before you think I'm crazy, consider painting an accent wall or even giving a cabinet a makeover with some paint. This color really is a subtle version of bright purple — but I caution you — too much of it may make your office look like a nursery. Sometimes too much can be, well, TOO much. The great thing is a lot of paint companies have produced Pantone released shades and variations of it, too. Using these signature shades will take the guesswork out of your update.

I love styling an office space with a pop of color! Its a great way to make the space stand out without going over the top. As much as I love purple, it's just not my style to have an entire office full of purple furniture. I actually love a bunch of pieces from the turnstone Collection that are variations of the color of the year. If you follow @myturnstone on instagram, you'll see more examples (like the one below) of ways they're playing with shades of Orchid, too.

If you can't quite commit to a large purchase and prefer to admire really, really small bursts of this color, I suggest styling and accessorizing your space instead. You can switch items out quickly and buying accessories is a lot less expensive than furniture. I love getting lamps, pillows and art prints with a pop of color when I'm tired of my office space.
