Winter is a distant memory and it feels like Spring was barely here, but it's already almost Summer! Kids are almost out of school, vacations are being confirmed and sun dresses and shorts are now in the front of your wardrobe. But unless you're a teacher, you still have to work this summer and you'll want to update your work life and work space.
Even if you don't get to spend every waking hour at the beach, poolside or around a campfire; You can do a few simple and easy changes to your workspace that will bring summer to you and even help you relax a little!
If you can barely see your desktop's background, you're not alone. There might be a bit of a fiel build up since the fall and winter and it might make getting work done a bit harder. Go through your computer and sort through all the things you've completed, things that need to be done and things you'll always need. If you separate work by weeks or months, you'll always know what needs to be done before that big vacation.
If you're craving some quality time with the sun, sea and sand, but you're stuck at the office, bring the beach to you. Adding nautical and seashore inspired decor into your office will make it feel more like a beach cottage, even if it's just a few anchor file folders and a beach art print.
When I think of summer, I always think of beautiful California sunsets. If nautical isn't really your style, you could add a few sunset inspired items to your office. You could pair the Turnstone Uno chair and wire trashcan with some sunset desk accessories for a gorgeous sundown look.
You can also add a little summery decor to your workspace with some easy, peel and stick wall options. Get some tropical and backyard BBQ inspired wall decals or some beachy wood paneling or blue striping. And the best thing is, you can just peel it off when you're ready for a change.
Not everyone has time to redo their entire office for summer, though. If you want an easy way to bring a little summer, and some light, into your workspace, get a new lamp. Nautical will be the easiest to find, but I especially love the little Campfire Big Lamp!
