At the beginning of every New Year, I have a growing urge to declutter my office — and one of my biggest clutter pet peeves is cord clutter.

Not only do I hate the look of jumbled cords lurking under my desk, on my desk, in my drawers, along the baseboard, down the walls, etc.; I also hate not knowing what cord goes to what device and never being able to find the cord I need when I need it.

It seems every device comes with at least one cord or cable… and even bluetooth and other wireless devices come with chargers and other accessories!

So many cords!

If you'd like to corral your cord clutter, I have five tools that should help you do the trick.

1. UT Flexi Ties

These ties are super strong and flexible so they are fabulous for almost any type of cord. We use them to coral bulky extension cords, our extra long laptop charging cords, and many other odd cords around our home and office.

The bright colors make them easy to spot — which is always nice when you have a drawer or box full of extra cords and cables.

UT Flexi Ties = $13.32 for pack of 6.

2. Hosa Cable Organizer

This is one of my favorite cord organizers because it takes a whole mess of cords and compiles them into one strand that you can easily hide behind your desk, filing cabinet, entertainment center, or even a strategically placed plant!

The horizontal slit all the way down this cable organizer makes it really easy to add or remove cords as necessary — which is another big bonus for me!

Hosa Cable Organizer = $9.24 for a 10 ft. rope.

3. Blue Lounge Cable Dots

Cable Dots are a fabulous way to keep all your USB cords and chargers neat, organized, and easily accessible.

They are super quick to install on almost any hard surface and can easily be moved whenever the need arrises.

Blue Lounge Cable Dots = $9.00 for a pack of 6.

4. Command Cord Organizing Pack

As with all Command products, these cord organizers easily stick to almost any hard surface, and can be removed without leaving a sticky residue or messing up the finish on your walls/desk/etc.

I use the Command Cord Organizers to run cords along the bottom of a wall, along the floor, or even down the back of my desk.

Since the cords are securely attached, I don't have to worry about anyone tripping over my cords and unplugging something.

Command Cord Organizers = $8.87 for a 16 ct. pack.

5. Dotz Cord Catcher

This super grippy silicone organizer holds up to 4 different cords without leaving a sticky residue.

It's great for organizing cords, cables, and chargers on your desk, other workstation, nightstand, or even on your car dashboard!

Dotz Cord Catcher = $7.99 each

Obviously, these are just a few of the many fabulous cord organizers on the market today — however, these are ones I've personally used and can verify work really well.

Sometime in the next week, I challenge you to take an hour or two and go through all your different cords, cables, chargers, etc. Purge the ones you no longer need, and then organize the rest using any of these cord organizers!
