The overall focus of the Steelcase Health booth at Healthcare Design is on applications that showcase an interesting mix of semi-open and semi-private settings. Also crucial is how the applications blend accessibility, connection, shared learning and collaboration, while at the same time defining personal space and privacy.
The design intent behind the semi-open treatment application enables patients to have family members present, as well as assist with socialization. Personal space is defined, patients can switch from upright to reclined positions, and clinicians have immediate access to patients, technology and supplies.
